NATCHEZ — A Ferriday man is in jail on allegations he stabbed a woman, raped her daughter and then robbed both of them.
J.C. Hampton, 37, 9798 U.S. 84, Ferriday, was arrested Sunday on charges of aggravated robbery, first-degree robbery, aggravated rape and attempted second-degree murder.
Ferriday Investigator Clarence Hall said the police responded to the call when one of the victims — the daughter — went to the Ferriday Police Department and told officers her mother had been stabbed multiple times.
The two victims knew Hampton, and had reportedly given him a ride earlier in the evening, Hall said.
“They had dropped him off at his destination and then he looped back around and he made entry into their house,” Hall said.
“While in the house, he stabbed the mother. After stabbing the mother, he raped the daughter and then committed the robbery.”
The investigator declined to say what was taken during the robbery, saying that the matter is still under investigation.
The alleged assaults happened in the 600 block of Eighth Street, Hall said.
The police received a tip of where the suspect was and were able to apprehend him, Hall said.
Hampton was detained Sunday without bond, and is scheduled to appear before a judge today.
