FERRIDAY — Services for Edith Thomas Snyder, 96, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harvest Baptist Church with the Rev. Tracy Cusic officiating.
Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Snyder was born March 26, 1915, in Ferriday, the daughter of Tom and Anna Watson Thomas. She was a retired educator for Concordia Parish School System with 27 years of service. She was a member of Old St. Reed Baptist Church.
Mrs. Snyder was preceded in death by her husband, Lucien Snyder Sr. and two sons, Don Elbert Snyder and Lucien Snyder Jr.
Survivors include two sons, Eddie Snyder and wife, Betty, of Ferriday and Carl L. Snyder of Charleston S.C.; four daughters, Melva S. Carr of American Canyon, Calif., Deloris Despenza of Ferriday, Marolyn D. Snyder of Conshohocken, Pa., and Carolyn S. Tribble and husband, Harvey, of Norriston, Pa.; 25 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
