CLAYTON — Graveside services for Loyce Jean Parsons, 79, of Clayton, who died Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Ferriday, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Highland Park Cemetery.

Burial will follow under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Mrs. Parsons was born Dec. 13, 1932, in Gilbert, La., the daughter of Vitula Rider and Walter H. Rider. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Parsons was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Charles Carey Parsons.

Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Henderson and husband, David, of Winnsboro, La., and Deborah Platt and husband, Steve, of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sons, Elwaine Smith Jr. and wife, Maudie, of Monroe, La., E. Bryan Smith and wife, Debbie, and Michael Parsons, all of Jacksonville; one sister, Francis McCoy of Winnsboro; one brother-in-law, William Parsons of Baton Rouge; two grandchildren, Debbie Henderson and Bryan Lee Smith; and four great-grandchildren.
