NATCHEZ — The Natchez Police Department is investigating a shooting at Susie B. West Apartments Tuesday that left one man injured.

Lt. Craig Godbold said Brad King, 28, 5 Stardust Road, was shot in the abdomen. Godbold said police believe King was involved in an altercation because multiple rounds were fired during the incident.

A Natchez police report states that a Lewis Drive resident reported a bullet entered her residence, but police could not immediately identify where the bullet had stopped. No injuries were reported from the stray bullet.

King was taken to Natchez Community Hospital then airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson for further treatment.

King was in good condition Wednesday afternoon, according to hospital officials.
