NATCHEZ — Services for Catherine Marie Mosby, 62, of Natchez, who died Monday, March 26, 2012, at The Carpenter House in Baton Rouge, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Beulah Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Chandler officiating.

Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ms. Mosby was born Aug. 31, 1949, the daughter of Ora Lee Ransom and Percy Johnson. She was a 1969 graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School and had worked for the Natchez-Adams School District. She was retired.

She was preceded in death by her mother; stepfather, Harvey Ransom Sr.; grandmother, Kathleen Mosby; and one grandson, Michael Xavier Cyrus.

Survivors include two daughters, Nichelle Cyrus and husband, Michael, and Courtney Mosby and her special friend, Nita; two grandsons, Devanté Small and Michael Cyrus; one loving aunt, Lucille James Anderson; three sisters, Thelma Ransom Spikes, Bobbie Gordon and Betty Ransom; seven brothers, Elijah Mosby, Jerry Ransom, Harvey Ransom Jr., Joseph Ransom, Percy Johnson Jr., Carson Johnson and Larry Johnson; devoted cousin, Mary White; lifelong friend, Mary “Wease” Robinson; and a number of relatives and friends.
