Experience greatest love at Pilgrim

Spring is in the air! Lawns are arrayed with beautiful flowers that are in full bloom. Homes are decorated with bunnies and all the embellishments of Easter. The anticipation of the perfect egg hunt hovers over the little ones who admire their baskets while their parents dye eggs in a beautiful array of colors.
In the midst of all this excitement, the Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church has a special treat in store for the community; the re-enactment of the Crucifixion and Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We invite the general public to come and relive the events as they unfold. The performance is scheduled for Good Friday.
The presentation encompasses biblical scenes from the greatest love story ever told. The re-enactment has been given the title, “No Greater Love,” by Ruby Lucas, the coordinator of the event. Mrs. Lucas said she chose this title because God loved us so much that he sent his only son to die on Calvary so that man might be redeemed.
To witness this unique experience, take a drive to 117 Pilgrim Blvd., and turn at the church’s entrance. Follow the instructions given by the parking lot attendants, and behold the splendor of this moving story.
The journey starts with the birth of Jesus lying in a manger and continues with scenes that depict the Savior’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem; watch the performing of miracles, the cleansing of the temple; the Last Supper; witness the agony of Christ in the Garden; the trial; the whipping of Christ; the bearing of the cross; dying on the cross; the Resurrection; and the Ascension.
The re-enactment is a joint effort carried out by the members of the Pilgrim MBC. Children as well as adults are participants in what we believe will be a journey to remember. The dramatic effect of music, costumes, and artwork will be an added attraction.
Pastor Melvin White and the Pilgrim MBC family hope to see you Friday, beginning promptly at 8:30. Remember, this is a drive through, and we thank you in advance for not parking because this is a journey that many will want to see.
It’s inspiring, and we welcome everyone to come and experience the passion, agony, jubilation and victory of the greatest story ever told.
