JONESVILLE — Services for Dorothy Marie Morris Smith, 90, of Jonesville, who died Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at her residence, will be at 3 p.m. today at Lake Lilly Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Bass and the Rev. Richard Cullum officiating.

Burial will follow at McFarland Gurie Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Mrs. Smith was born Aug. 16, 1921, in Harrisonburg, the daughter of Wince and Dorothy Edwards Morris. She was a homemaker and a member of Lake Lilly Baptist Church.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Alton Smith; her parents; one brother, Milton Eugene Morris; six sisters, Lilac Bass, Bernice Wheeler, Biela Neal, Rose Jones, Betty Bradshaw and Lucy Smith; and one granddaughter, Paula Doughty.

Survivors include three daughters, Pat Doughty and husband, Roy, and Carolyn Doughty and husband, Alvin, all of Vidalia, and Dorothy Chappelle and husband, Leo, of Jonesville; four grandchildren, James Doughty and wife, Melissa, and Monica “Monty” Miller and husband, Michael, all of Vidalia, Cliff Doughty and wife, Aimeé, of Pineville, La., and Tamba Eichmann and husband, Lane, of Jonesville; one brother, Wince Morris Jr. of Jonesville; two sisters, Bonnie Mophett and husband, Aubrey, of Vidalia and Marjorie Peschier of Lake Charles, La.; nine great-grandchildren, Miranda Smith and husband, Josh, of Vidalia, Beau Doughty, Andrew Doughty, Chelsi Eichmann, Rachel Eichmann, Trenton Miller, Trace Miller, Benjamin Doughty and Joel Doughty; and three great-great-grandchildren, Chloe Smith, Clayton Smith and Callie Smith.

A special thanks to her sitters, Mary Marshall, Carrie Nolan and Vera Coates.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Doughty, Beau Doughty, Cliff Doughty, James Doughty, Josh Smith, Lane Eichmann and Michael Miller.
