FERRIDAY — Services for Robert “Batman” Franklin Sr., 48, of Ferriday, who died Saturday, April 7, 2012, at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, La., will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Concordia Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Timothy Williams officiating.

Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Franklin was born Jan. 18, 1964, in Lafayette, La., the son of John and Annie Mae Boyd Franklin.

He was preceded in death by his mother and two brothers, Zan and Larry Franklin.

Survivors include his father and his wife, Rose Lee Hooper, of Ridgecrest; two sons, Robert Franklin Jr. of Jonesville and Dorian Reed of Ferriday; one daughter, Dyesha Franklin of Jonesville; nine brothers, Johnnie Jackson, Sammie Jackson and wife, Ida Mae, John Franklin Jr., Anthony Franklin and Warren Neal, all of Ferriday, James Franklin and wife, Betty, of Jonesville, Jim Franklin, Rayfield Franklin and wife, Queeny, all of Houston, Texas and Michael Franklin of Morrow, La.; six sisters, Mabel Jackson of Lake Charles, La., Janet Thompson and husband, Eddie, Helen Baker and husband, Darrow, Mary Franklin, Lisa Sheppard and husband, Kelvin, all of Ferriday, and Judy Johnson of Houston, Texas; two stepsisters; two sisters-in-law; and two grandchildren.
