NATCHEZ — A man who pleaded guilty in 1998 to two shootings, one of them fatal, will be released today.
According to a news release from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, Jamey Christopher Woodard, 41, will be released from the Mississippi Department of Corrections on the grounds that he has earned release with supervision.
Woodward pleaded guilty to the 1997 shootings of Darian Allen and Greg Marshall — a shooting that killed Allen — during the robbery of the Plant Ridge Grocery on Martin Luther King Jr. Street.
At the time of his pleading, Woodward was sentenced to 30 years prison for manslaughter and one count aggravated assault.
