CLAYTON — A Concordia Parish man died Monday night in a single vehicle crash outside Clayton.

Bennie Griffin, 36, of Clayton, died at the scene.

According to a news release from the Louisiana State Police Troop E, troopers responded to the crash on Louisiana 900 at 10:30 p.m.

The 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Griffin was driving eastbound on Louisiana 900 exited the right side of the roadway and entered a ditch, overturning after it struck a culvert after Griffin lost control of the vehicle.

The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected during the crash.

Routine toxicology tests are pending, and the crash remains under investigation.
