NATCHEZ — Services for Robert Edward “Bob” Dossett, 69, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. today at New Covenant Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dennis Flach officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Mr. Dossett was born Nov. 6, 1942, in New Orleans, the son of Clarence Edward Dossett and Kathryn Maudell Barnes Dossett. He attended Tulane University, USL and the University of Houston. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and was owner of automobile dealerships in Natchez and Clarksdale.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Judith Dossett Hendricks; and one grandson, Andrew Randle Dossett.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Randles Dossett; five sons, Sterling Edward Dossett of Natchez, Randle Dwight Dossett of Madison, Christopher Robert Dossett and wife, Melissa, of Diamondhead; Guy Lewis Dossett and wife, Cleo, of Gulfport and Robert Charles Dossett and wife, Jennifer, of Vidalia; 10 grandchildren, Jess Dossett, Hunter Dossett, Irby Dossett, Austin Dossett, Caroline Dossett, Lauren Dossett, Brad Dossett, Tristen Dossett, Olivia Dossett and Ethan Stroud; one brother, Sam Dossett and wife, Pam, of Hattiesburg; one sister, Marilyn Bowen and husband, Charles, of Eupora; mother-in-law, Helen Randles of Houston, Texas; one uncle, Roland Dossett of Vidor, Texas; one aunt, Vera Grissinger of Natchez; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jess Dossett, Hunter Dossett, Irby Dossett, Will Warren, David McGee and Hal Beckham.
Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Tew, Walter Lee Oglesby, Sonny Lee, Jamie Hamm and Dale Turner.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 130 Homochitto St., Natchez, MS 39120.
