FERRIDAY — A precautionary boil water advisory was lifted Thursday for the Town of Ferriday.

The advisory was placed last Thursday after town employees turned off water for two hours to work on a fire hydrant that was struck on Woodland Avenue.

The precautionary boil water advisory is standard procedure anytime a water system loses pressure.

Water samples must be tested and proven safe for consumption before the ban can be lifted.
