Local athletes win at overall meet

JACKSON — Several local athletes took home top honors in the field events at the MAIS Overall Track Meet Friday.

Adams County Christian School’s Nikki Worthey and Trinity Episcopal’s Ashleigh Williams both earned the No. 1 spot in their respective field events. Worthey placed first in the Class AA girls high jump, and Williams came in first in the Class AA girls discus throw.

Centreville Academy’s Mike Keith came in first in the Class AA boys discus throw.

Results for other local athletes that competed in the overall meet are as follows:

– WCCA’s Gracie Politz placed eighth in the Class A girls high jump

– ACCS’s Jessica Reynolds placed fourth in the Class AA girls long jump, and Trinity’s Rosie Woods placed fifth in the same event

– Skylar Adams came in sixth in the Class AA girls triple jump

– WCCA’s Tramel McKenzie came in second in the Class A boys long jump

– WCCA’s Dakota Jones placed fourth in the Class A boys triple jump

– ACCS’s Lester Wells came in second in the Class AA boys high jump, while Trinity’s Tanner Cage came in fourth

– Wells also placed third in the Class AA boys long jump, while Cage placed eighth

– Centreville Academy’s Colby Shaw came in second in the Class AA boys triple jump, while teammate Randy Bell came in eighth

– Edward DeLee for Centreville placed third in the Class AA boys shot put
