NATCHEZ — The Natchez Board of Aldermen voted this morning to extend the city’s contract that governs the existing city engineering department until July 31.

The contract was set to expire May 31, which would have dissolved the department. The department has seven employees.

Alderman James “Rickey” Gray made the motion, and later explained that the extension will allow a new administration to review the contract long-term.
