Willie James Hoskins

NATCHEZ — Services for Willie James Hoskins, 61, who died Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Oddessy Hospice House in Fort Worth, Texas, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Daughters of Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. D. W. Howard officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of R. D. Mackel and Sons.

Mr. Hoskins was born Feb. 1, 1951, the son of Rosie H. Henderson and James Woods Sr.

He was a 1970 graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School and served in the U.S. Air Force, having retired after 22 years of service.

Mr. Hoskins was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Sam Henderson; and one brother, Willie “Buck” Woods.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Williams Hoskins; three daughters, Kymon, Karyn and Kywana Hoskins, all of Ft. Worth; two grandchildren, Octavious and Jamarius; two aunts, Christina Bell McClure of Saginaw, Mich., and Julia Henry of Natchez; three uncles, Charles Hoskins and Ernest Woods of Natchez and John Hoskins of Moss Point; four sisters, Mary Straus and husband, Bob, most dearest to his heart, Dora Conner and husband, Marshall and LaVera Rankin and husband, Frank, all of Natchez, and especially Linda Rice of Dallas; 11 brothers, Cleotha Woods and wife, Betty, Roy Woods and wife, Dana, Alvin Frisby and wife, Amerila, Jeff Woods and wife, Ruthie, Lorenza Rice and wife, Lucille, Terry Woods and wife, Carrie, James Woods Jr. and wife, Claudia, Donald Rice and wife, Angela, Clifford Woods and wife, Florine and Charlie Woods, all of Natchez and Henry Rice and wife, Linda, of Jackson; two special nieces, Andrea and Tamika; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be brothers.

Honorary pallbearers will be uncles and cousins.
