FERRIDAY — Services for Louis Joseph “Joe Country” Evans III, 29, of Monterey, who died Friday, May 11, 2012, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be at noon Thursday at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday with the Rev. Tony Ganey officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Joe was born Oct. 1, 1982, in Natchez, the son of Louis Joseph Evans Jr. and Kathy “Kay Jay” Moreland. He was employed by Canal Barge in Belle Chasse, La., as a riverboat captain.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Louis Evans Sr. and Gloria Patsy Evans; two aunts, Joy Moreland and Patricia Nan “Penny” Evans; and one uncle, Ray Wise.
Survivors include his father of Monterey; his mother and Pappaw Dane Ryan, both of New Orleans; one sister, April Renee Evans Sanders and husband, Chris, of Monterey; grandmother, Patsy Carter Graves; grandparents, Charles L. Moreland Sr. and Tiny Moreland; grandmother, Linda “Gammy” Ryan; grandfather, F.J. Tyson and wife, Kathy; four aunts, Lynda Ingram and husband, David, Mr. and Mrs. Acklin Bourque Jr., Patty Romans and Vickie Wise; one uncle, Chuck Moreland Jr. and wife, Melba; two nieces, Skylar Sanders and Chrissy Sanders; one nephew, Patrick Sanders; special daughter, Marissa Book; cousins, Mark Ingram, Amber Blackford, Micah Ingram and wife, Stefanie, Michelle Johnson and husband, Trey, Emily LaCoste and husband, Jay, Edward Wise, Ernie Wise and wife, Theresa, Brandy Moreland, Jozi Martin, Connie Simpsom McCormick, Alicia O’quinn and husband, Andy, Tina Case and husband, Kevin, Blake Cuvrin, Dustin Romans and Tegan Romans; and a number of family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Tobin Henessey, Aaron Tisdale, Chad Windam, Aaron “AJ” Smith, Joe Clark, Kenway Hurst, Mark Ingram, Micah Ingram, Orrin Beard and Uel Beard Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Alan Warren Sr., Alan “Monty” Warren Jr., Charlie “Goober” Coates, Andy Partridge, Bubba Crawford, Erby Seals, family at Canal Barge, Jay LaCoste, Randy Smith, Tim Tisdale, Charles “Chuck” Moreland, Dane Ryan and Eddie Ryan.
