NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Ford Lee Curry Jr., 69, of Jackson, who died Monday, May 14, 2012, will be at noon Thursday at the Natchez City Cemetery with the Rev. Darian Duckworth officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mr. Curry was born June 4, 1942, in Natchez, the son of Ford and Minnie Curry. He was a graduate of Washington High School.
Ford Lee will be remembered as an avid “hot rod” enthusiast, having built a number of cars through the years. He was involved in restoring a Roadster with close friends Ronnie and Jean Smith, taking the lead. He worked a number of jobs in Natchez as an excellent mechanic and was employed by Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company for 10 years.
Mr. Curry was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Betty; and one daughter, Anne.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Elaine Harrigill Curry; two sons, Dean Curry and wife, Nancy, of Pearl and Richard Curry of Texas; two grandsons, Chris Curry and wife, Ashley, and Kevin L. Curry, all of Hattiesburg; one granddaughter, Katie Curry of Pearl; one great-grandson, Lucian Curry of Hattiesburg; three brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law, Ken and Linda Whitam of Baton Rouge, Charles and Kathy Harrigill of Natchez, Carolyn O’Beirne and Melody and Carl Fuqua, all of Vidalia; and a number of nieces and nephews.
