NATCHEZ — Services for Margurite Johnson Chatman, 80, of Natchez, who died Friday, May 25, 2012, at Promise Hospital in Vidalia, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Greater Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Clifton Marvel officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from noon until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Chatman was born June 8, 1931, the daughter of Steve Johnson and Annie Laura Fleming Johnson. She was a graduate of St. Francis High School and was a private-duty nurse.
Mrs. Chatman was a member of Greater Macedonia Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Luther Chatman.
Survivors include four children, Lonnie Griffin III and Margaret G. Simmons and husband, Willie Eddie, all of Dallas, Anna Laura Knight and Susan G. Brice and husband, George, all of Natchez; six stepchildren, Patricia Davis and husband, Howard, Carol Chatman, Yvonne Thomas, Garver Chatman, Linda Herman and husband, Herman, and Albert Chatman; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
