NATCHEZ — Services for Marion Francis “Slick” Marshall III, 86, of Natchez, who died Monday, June 25, 2012, at Promise Hospital in Vidalia, will be at noon Thursday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with Matthew Poole officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Marshall was born May 8, 1926, in Vicksburg, the son of Marion Francis Marshall Jr. and Bessie Jackson Marshall. He was Methodist.

Mr. Marshall served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and a longtime member of the Belwood County Club.

Mr. Marshall retired from International Paper Company in Natchez.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lela Marsh Marshall; and one sister, Frances Helen Marshall.

Survivors include three children, Mary Christopher and husband, John, of Natchez, Vivian Deutschman and husband, Robert, of Liverpool, N.Y., and Madeleine Felps and husband, Michael, of Baton Rouge; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
