NATCHEZ — Services for Roderick S. Fitzgerald Sr., 35, of Natchez, who died Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, La., will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanley Searcy officiating.

Burial will follow at the Rounds Cemetery in Sibley under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Fitzgerald was born March 3, 1977, in Natchez, the son of Delores F. Williams. He was baptized in October 2007, and became a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where he remained a member until death.

Survivors include his mother of Atlanta; grandmother, who was very dear to him, Angelee Fitzgerald; five sons, Roderick S. Fitzgerald Jr., Edward and Edmen Thompson of Hattiesburg and Gabriel and Mi’Kell Guillen-Fitzgerald of Connecticut; one sister, Chiquita Fitzgerald of Atlanta; two brothers, Derrick Fitzgerald of Natchez and Darious Williams of Atlanta; six aunts, Rosa Brown and husband, Joe, Priscilla Rounds, all of Houston, Texas, Bobbie Nell Charrier and husband, Darnell of Dallas, Carol Fitzgerald, Mythagnes Fitzgerald and Shelia Fitzgerald, all of Natchez; four uncles, Cedrick Fitzgerald and wife, Shelia, of Natchez, Kevin Fitzgerald of Columbus, Ga., Ferry Rounds and wife, Maxine, Lonnell Fitzgerald and wife, Sonya, all of Houston; a special friend, Ashley Billiot; and a number of relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be members of the family.
