MEADVILLE — Services for John A. Farris, 61, of Meadville, who died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, in Meadville, will be at 10 a.m. today at Meadville Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Bowlin officiating and the Rev. Emory May will deliver the eulogy.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Mr. Farris was born Aug. 9, 1950, in Shawnee, Okla., the son of Gerald and Frances Stevens Farris. He was a 20-year retired U.S. Army veteran; senior JROTC instructor at Franklin High School and a deacon at Meadville Baptist Church and a member of the choir.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Cary Farris.
Survivors include a loving and devoted wife, Rhonda Farris; one daughter, Tara, of Bude; his mother of Shawnee, Okla.; two brothers, Gerald S. Farris and wife, Linda, of Tecumseh, Okla., and Roger Farris and wife, Carolyn, of Rogers, Ark.; and a number of other relatives and friends.
