NATCHEZ — Services for Laura Butler “Curly” Minor, 79, of Natchez, who died Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Douglas Logan officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Zion Hill Baptist Church No. 1.

Mrs. Minor was born Aug. 12, 1932, in Sibley, the daughter of Wash Sr. and Laura Butler. She attended Sadie V. Thompson High School and was a homemaker.

Mrs. Minor was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church where she served as an usher and a member of Universal Home Support Society.

She enjoyed cooking, fishing and baseball.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Minor Sr.; two daughters, Rebecca Owens and Ida Minor; one granddaughter, Classie O. Palmer; two grandsons, Delvru John Minor and Roosevelt Owens Jr.; and three sisters, Rosie Porter, Agnes Washington and Elizabeth Brown.

Survivors include six daughters, Rosie Stewart, Mary A. Griffin, Lucille Minor, Marilyn Barge, Auguree Minor and Georgia Minor, all of Natchez, and Anna Laura Tillage and husband, Kelvin, of Vidalia; three sons, Theodore Minor Jr., Isaac Minor and George Minor and wife, Sharron, all of Natchez; and two brothers, Wash Butler and wife, Mary, and Walter Butler and wife, Joanna, all of Natchez.

Pallbearers will be Wayne King, Horace Williams, Joe Blanton, Emmitt Minor, Melvin Myles, James Carter, Dwayne Thompson, Jerry Lyles, Lawrence Green and Kenny Butler.
