FERRIDAY — Services for Evelyn Margaret Cross, 83, of Clayton, who died Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday with the Rev. Russell Crum officiating.

Burial will follow at Scott Cemetery in Monterey under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cross was born Feb. 25, 1929, in Topeka, Kan., the daughter of Louis Corey and Rose Boykin. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Cross was a beloved wife and mother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Helen White; and a special aunt, Margarite Vance.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, L.S. Cross; two daughters, Lynn Freener and husband, Dan, of Clayton and Kitty Bradford and husband, Steve, of Jena, La.; four sons, Scott Cross and wife, Betsy, of Baker, La., John Cross and wife, Janie, of Dallas, William Austin and wife, Kathy, of New Orleans and Kail Champlin Cross and wife, Heather, of Vidalia; 12 grandchildren, Kelly Humphries, Kay Clem, Cortney Ainsworth, Daniel Cross, Susannah Cross, John Cross, David Cross, Sarah Ables, Tori Bradford, Zayne Bradford, Megan Austin and Madonna Austin; 20 great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Leslie “Sonny” Vance Jr., Elizabeth “Sister” Vance Minor, Lewis “Buddy” Vance and Rosalie and Jimmy Boykin.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Clem, Ernest Humphries, David Cross, Daniel Cross, John Cross and Junior Young.
