MANDEVILLE, La. — A life celebration for Edna Gilley Mequet, 87, who went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 10, 2012, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Church of King in Mandeville.

Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens under the direction of E.J. Fielding Funeral Home in Covington, La.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Mrs. Mequet was preceded in death by her husband, Robert O. Mequet Sr.; her parents, Arthur Gilley and Irene Lewis Gilley; and two siblings, Aubrey Gilley and Ray Gilley.

Survivors include four children, Robert “Rip” Mequet Jr. and wife, Stacey, Joya “Baby Doll” Mequet Taylor and husband, Richard, Suzanne Mequet Brantley and husband, George, and Suzette Mequet Bowman and husband, Kirk; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one sibling, Mickey Gilley.
