JONESVILLE — Services for Violet C. Ryan Poole, 80, of Jonesville, who went to her heavenly home Thursday, July 19, 2012, in Vidalia, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Jonesville with the Rev. Craig James officiating.
Burial will follow at Heard Cemetery under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church.
Mrs. Poole was born Dec. 9, 1931, in Mangham, La., the daughter of William E. Ryan and Lois Mapp Ryan. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Mrs. Poole graduated from Block High School in Jonesville as the valedictorian. She worked as a bookkeeper for R.C. Poole Welding Service and Robert Davis Accounting. She was a very loving and caring mother and a very giving and kind person.
Mrs. Poole was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Ralph Clayton Poole and James C. Gerbish; one sister, Nellie Linder; and one brother, Milo Ryan.
Survivors include three children, Ralph Poole of Alexandria, Jennie Hamilton of Leesville, La., and Sue Ann Easterling of Vidalia; seven siblings, Jim Ryan, Helen Jones and Roger Ryan, all of Kilgore, Texas, Bill Ryan, Vonda Ford, Lorraine Parker and Leo Ryan, all of Jonesville; seven grandchildren, William Poole, Tammy Bond, Angela Easterling, Rachel Erin Easterling, Misty Crawford de Mahy, Linsey Moore and Jess Crawford; 10 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews who loved her.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Hamilton, Chris Ryan, Chad Ryan, Casey Ryan, Gary Ryan, John de Mahy, Eddie Jones Jr. and David Jones.
