NATCHEZ — Mayor Butch Brown is having two heart stents put in during a procedure next week, but he said he will be back on his feet in no time.
Brown also recently had a stent procedure, and he said next week’s procedure should be the last.
A stent is a wire mesh tube used to prop open an artery during angioplasty.
The stent stays in the artery permanently, according to the American Heart Association’s website.
Brown said he does not expect to stay overnight in the hospital.
“It’s not a bypass, and it’s not anything I would consider ‘serious,’” Brown said. “Hopefully, I’ll just be in and out.”
