Alice Webb Parker

FERRIDAY — Services for Alice Webb Parker, 72, of Clayton, who died Saturday, July 21, 2012, in Clayton, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday with the Rev. Wayne Gray officiating.

Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home of Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Parker was born June 4, 1940, in Catahoula Parish, the daughter of Regina and Earl Webb.

Mrs. Parker was a beautician for more than 30 years, working in several local shops before opening her own beauty shop in Clayton. She was also an active member of Ferriday First Baptist Church and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was devoted to her grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Meme.”

Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her son Stephen Parker and her parents.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Sammie Parker of Clayton; son Cecil Parker and wife, Phyllis, of Vidalia grandchildren Jared and Callie Parker, Jody King, Ashley Parker and Stephen Parker; great-grandchildren Kayleigh Brianna King and Adisyn Emily King; three brothers, Charles Webb and wife, Janie, of Ferriday, Gerald Webb of Clayton, and Shannon Webb of Ferriday.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
