NATCHEZ — Services for the Rev. James Charles McGrew, 59, of Natchez, who died Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Christian Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. John Scott Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
Rev. McGrew was born April 27, 1953, in Adams County, the son of Martin and Hattie Anderson McGrew. He was a member of the sanctuary choir at Christian Hope Baptist Church, Laymen Ministry, Church Council member, Sunday school superintendent, the male choir and devotional leader.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Patrieta Power; and two aunts, Daisy Wade and Ethel Anderson.
Survivors include a loving and devoted wife, Vanessa Davis McGrew; two daughters, Jalisa McGrew and Christina McGrew, all of Natchez; two special aunts, Arie A. Miller of Clayton and Celeste Agyward of Plainfield, N.J.; mother-in-law, Elvira Davis; two sisters-in-law, Tori Green and husband, Lawrence, and Danielle Spencer and husband, Cedric; three aunts-in-law; three uncles-in-law; three special friends, the Rev. John Scott Jr., the Rev. Carl Smith and the Rev. Ross; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
