Photo feature: Tuning up the heat

Ben Hillyer/The Natchez Democrat — Water was for more than drinking Monday morning on the Natchez High School track on the first day of band camp. Anthony Calvit drenches his face with water to cool off after the first session of exercises and running three laps around the track to get in shape for the long, hot week.

Braxton Mitchell points the water hose not at his mouth but toward the top of his head.

The dance team goes through a series of exercises to get into shape for the week at band camp. The students will be battling high temperatures and higher heat indexes all week long.
