NATCHEZ — Services for John Alvin Cain, 86, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Washington United Methodist Church with the Rev. Reed McCaleb officiating.
Masonic graveside services and burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday, both at the church.
Mr. Cain was born Jan. 18, 1926, in Attala County, the son of Joe Sallis Cain and Dena Virgie Cochran Cain. He was a member of the Board of Trustees and Administrative Board of Washington United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Natchez Shrine Club, the Harmony Masonic Lodge No. 1, the Andrew Jackson Masonic Lodge No. 2 and the Eastern Star.
Mr. Cain was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Mary Ables, Sallie Ables, Hattie McBride, Estelle Ables, Marie Ford; and one brother, Archie Lee Cain Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Robin M. Cain; two daughters, Deborah Cain of Natchez and Diane C. McGehee and husband, Mike, of Natchez; two sons, Robert A. Cain and wife, Cindy, of Natchez and Donald Cain and wife, Marie, of Carrollton; four granddaughters, Tracie M. Barnard and husband, Justin, of Brandon, Dina C. Kilburn and husband, Daniel, of Duck Hill, Crystal Davis of Natchez and Lindsey Hargon of Austin, Texas; two grandsons, James E. Cain and wife, Heather, of Carrollton and Casey McGehee and wife, Sunny, of Brandon; 10 great-grandchildren, Grace and Aidan Kilburn of Duck Hill, Blake and Cambrie Barnard and Silas McGehee, all of Brandon, John Wiley, Lucas and Lora Cain, all of Carrollton, Landon Davis and Brody Bequette, both of Natchez two sisters, Genelle Cain of Camden and Lavelle Horne of McAdams; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Casey McGehee, James Cain, Daniel Kilburn, Justin Barnard, Jack Cupit and John Dickerson.
Memorials may be made to Washington United Methodist Church or the Shriners Crippled Children Hospital.
