NATCHEZ — Natchez police are investigating details reported about an armed robbery Wednesday at Williams Apartments that do not quite add up.

Natchez Detective Jerry Ford said a woman reported two men followed her and her boyfriend to Williams Apartments, approached their vehicle and pulled a gun. The men reportedly took the woman’s Phenergan with codeine cough syrup.

Ford said the men, who are acquaintances with the couple, report that the woman’s boyfriend tried to sell them the cough syrup. For whatever reason, Ford said, the deal did not happen, and the men ended up taking the syrup.

“We’re still investigating it, it could be a robbery, but it also could not be one,” Ford said.
