MONTEREY — Services for Lucy Marie Farmer, 85, of Trout, La., formerly of Monterey, who died Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, at Rapides Regional Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Monterey Church of Christ with the Rev. Clyde Grammon officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Farmer was born Aug. 9, 1927, in Monterey, the daughter of Harry Freeman and Mattie Mae Blount. She was a banker and a member of Monterey Church of Christ.
Mrs. Farmer was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Farmer; her parents; three brothers, Clyde Blount, Dick Blount and Willard Blount; one sister, Marguerite Wade; one son, Harry Percy Farmer; and one grandson, Will Rice.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Taylor and husband, Keith, of Trout and Judy Edwards and husband, James, of Pineville, La.; four grandchildren, Garrett and Emily Barnett, Keith Taylor Jr. and Jamie Edwards; five great-grandchildren, Ashley and Mark Rice, Sarah Toney, Austin and Zayne Taylor; two brothers, Phillip Blount and wife, Nell, and H.F. “Bozo” Blount and wife, Vivian, all of Monterey; and one sister, Inis Lanehart of Monterey.
Pallbearers will be Charles Ward, Dan Lanehart, David Wade, Garrett Barnett, Jimmy Wade, Joe Blount, Don Blount, Keith Taylor Jr. and Mark Rice.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Lanehart, Lehman Lanehart and Roy Blount.
