Fred Victor Ferrington

BILOXI — Services for Fred Victor Ferrington, 63, of Biloxi, formerly of Vidalia, who died Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at Biloxi Regional Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday with the Rev. Curtis Smith and the Rev. Louis Sklar officiating.

Burial will follow at Legion Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Fred was born on Oct. 24, 1948, in Natchez, the son of Victor P. and Henrietta Ferrington.

He was a retired newspaper editor and a certified rehabilitation counselor.  He was graduate of Waterproof High School, attended Louisiana Tech University and LSU. He was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity of Louisiana Tech University.

Fred was preceded in death by his father; daughter, Ashleigh Ferrington; and brother, James Kevin Ferrington.

Survivors include his mother; two sons, Victor Paul Ferrington and wife, Ashley, of Houma, La., and Fred Anders Ferrington and wife, Mandy, of Jackson; one daughter, Amber Michelle Ferrington and fiancé, John Cavaness, of New Orleans; three grandchildren, Olivia Claire, Ashton Victor Ferrington and Avah Cavaness; four sisters, Cathryn Elaine McKinney and husband, Bill, of Little Rock, Ark., Gwendolyn Robin and husband, Tommy, of Ferriday, Jonnie Kay Hendricks and husband, Ronnie, of Ferriday, and Mary J. Soto and husband, Tony, of Ruston; and a number of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be H.T. Goldman III, Tim Soto, Tom Soto, Chris Brister, Cass Butler, Matt Robin, Thad Campbell and Tapper Hendricks.

Honorary Pallbearers will be T.J. Soto, Robert Cherry, Andy Sandel, Brennan Scarbrough, Marty Magee, Ayres Bradford, Geoffrey Wilkes and members of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity of Louisiana Tech.
