Franklin County man dies after accident

BUDE — A Franklin County man has died from injuries sustained in an early Thursday morning car crash on U.S. 98.
Julius R. Robinson, 50, 87 Ash St., Bude, was traveling east near Cotton Circle Drive when he veered into the middle of the traffic lanes and collided head-on with a 2005 Toyota Camry, a Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman said.
Robinson reportedly told troopers he had fallen asleep while driving. He was transported by ambulance to Southwest Regional Medical Center, then to University Medical Center in Jackson where he died from his injuries.
Robinson was not wearing a seat belt, troopers said.
The driver of the Toyota, Kawaski L. Ghoston, 40, of Pineville, La., was wearing an occupant restraint, was transported by ambulance to Southwest Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.
A passenger in the Toyota with Ghoston, Kevin M. Osteen, 39, of A05 Fritz St. Jonesville, was also transported by ambulance to Southwest Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries. Osteen was wearing an occupant restraint.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to the accident at 4:22 a.m.
Robinson was driving a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville.
