Natchez High defeats No. 1 team in state

LAUREN WOOD/THE NATCHEZ DEMOCRAT — Natchez High Coach Lance Reed gets a celebratory spray-bottle bath from excited players after the team defeated the No. 1 ranked Meridian Friday night.

NATCHEZ — The Natchez High Bulldogs have defeated Meridian, 54-41.

Meridian was ranked No.1 in the state in the Associated Press Prep Football Poll and was No. 1 in Mississippi’s largest football classification, 6A.

Meridian is now 4-1. Natchez High is 4-1 as well.
