VIDALIA — Services for Orma Jean James, 70, of Vidalia, who died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at Promise Hospital in Vidalia, will be at 1 p.m. today at Zion Baptist Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Johnny Elery officiating.

Burial will follow at the Vidalia Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Ms. James was born June 26, 1942, in Vidalia, the daughter of Dan and Margie Chatman White. She was retired from Vidalia City Hall.

Ms. James was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Sharon White; three brothers, Dan Jr., James Henry and Willie White; and two sisters, Dorothy White and Irene White.

Survivors include one daughter, Deidra James and husband, Ricardo, of Omaha, Neb.; two brothers, Elbert White of Vidalia and Leonard White and wife, Virgie, of Lancaster, Calif.; two sisters, Deidra W. Arrington and husband, Rickie, and Cora Dixon, all of Vidalia; two grandchildren, Olivette and Gerry White, both of Omaha; four great-grandchildren; and one uncle, Edward Curtis of Vidalia.
