NATCHEZ — Services for Bobbye F. Strickland, 84, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at Adams County Nursing Center, will be at 11 a.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Brewer officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mrs. Strickland was born Jan. 27, 1928, in Osyka, the daughter of James Pearlie Frazier Sr. and Rebecca Lula Brabham Frazier. She was a very faithful Christian and a charter member of Parkway Baptist Church who taught Sunday school for a number of years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family and loved life.
Mrs. Strickland retired from City Bank and Trust Company.
She was preceded in death her husband, Al Strickland Sr.
Survivors include two sons, Al and wife Judy Griffin Strickland of Natchez and Ronnie and wife Pam Dennis Strickland of West Point; four grandchildren, Amy Strickland Tate and husband, Kevin, of Tupelo, Sara Strickland Delaney and Clay Strickland, both of Natchez, and Lauran Strickland Ellis and husband, Richard, of Houston; six great-grandchildren, Madison Delaney and Graceyn Strickland of Natchez, Avery and Walker Tate of Tupelo, Matt and Ben Ellis of Houston; one sister, Rena Cutrer of Kentwood, La.; and a number of nieces and nephews who were all very special to her.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Tate, Wayne Smith, Kirk Grice, Bubba Bruce, Byron Carnette and Roger Heard.
The family extends thanks to Dr. Barry Tillman, the first floor nursing group at Natchez Community Hospital and the nurses and staff at Adams County Nursing Center.
