Mrs. Miller was born in Natchez, the daughter of Benjamin F. and Myrtle Hesterly Snead. She and Gene both graduated from Natchez High School. The high school sweethearts were married and moved to Alexandria where Gene was employed by KALB for 50 years when he retired as general manager. She was most accomplished in her sewing endeavors, a pastime in which included a number of infant and children’s heirloom designs. She also taught herself to use the computer in her 70s. She and Gene loved to travel in their motor home.
Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. “Gene” Miller and one grandson, Richard Lankford.
Survivors include her son, Robert E. “Gene “ Miller Jr. and wife, Betty Smith Miller, their three children and seven grandchildren; one daughter, Katherine Miller Lankford, her two remaining children and one grandchild; and her son, David F. Miller and his wife, Crystal Bostock Miller and their two children and five grandchildren.
