Reggie and Denise Smith of Vidalia announce the engagement of their daughter, Shelby Elizabeth Smith, to Jacob Ryan Holsted, son of Phyllis and Ken Caston of Shreveport and David and Jodi Holsted of Bridgeton, N.J.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Vidalia High School and is attending Northwestern State University, online, from Natchitoches, La. She is employed by the Payment Center in the Natchez Mall.

She is the granddaughter of Janet Smith and the late Curtis Smith and Gerald Whitehead and the late Shirley Whitehead, all of Natchez.

The groom-to-be is a graduate of Belford Home School in Natchez. He is employed by Furniture Factory Outlet in Natchez.

He is the grandson of the Rev. Cecil and Jewel Grantham of Winnsboro, La., and the late Deloy Wyatt and Vestal and Wanda Holsted.

The wedding will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, April 6, 2013, at First Pentecostal Church in Natchez.

A reception will follow at the church.
