NATCHEZ — Services for Charles “Mickey Mouse” Evans, 87, of Natchez, who died Saturday, April 13, 2013, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Stanton officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Evans was born Jan. 13, 1926, in Franklin County, the son of John and Fannie Smith Evans. He was a member of Tate Magnolia Baptist Church.

Mr. Evans served in the U.S. Navy and was retired from St. Catherine Gravel and McCalip Gravel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Willie Evans; one sister, Annie Baker; one daughter, Annie M. Evans; and two granddaughters, Sonji and Brenda Evans.

Survivors include his wife, Julia Washington; five children, Stevie Washington and wife, Edytha, of Ashburn, Ga., Damien Washington and wife, Brandy, and Roberta Beard, all of Natchez, Charles Evans Jr. of Dallas and Robert Evans of Jackson; three sisters, Dorothy Champ and Thelma Clark, both of Natchez, and Mable Evans of Port Arthur, Texas; one brother, John Evans and wife, Cordelia, of Natchez; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
