NATCHEZ — Three men were arrested Wednesday on charges claiming they burned a vehicle Saturday.

Terrell A. Johnson, 25, 2923 Miller Ave., Kendrell D. Johnson, 22, 704A Lower Woodville Road and Joseph C. Tucker, 19, 1023 N. Union St., were all charged with arson and detained without bond.

Terrell and Kendrell Johnson are brothers, Natchez Police Detective Jerry Ford said.

The brothers allegedly had Tucker buy $2 worth of gasoline, which they then poured on a 1997 Mitsubishi Diamante on Itasca Drive and lit on fire May 11, Ford said.

The brothers apparently believed the vehicle burning is an act of revenge for a house fire that happened outside the city limits earlier this year, Ford said. The house fire is still under investigation, he said.

Ford said the Natchez Fire Department was able to respond to the fire and put it out before the vehicle was destroyed, but the car nonetheless received heavy damage to its front end.
