061413 Boydstun obitpicFERRIDAY — Services for Carolyn Comer Boydstun, 63, of Lake St. John, who died Wednesday, June 12, 2013, in Minden, La., will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sevier Memorial United Methodist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Ray Varnado officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday, both at the church.

Mrs. Boydstun was born July 16, 1949, in Ferriday, the daughter of George S. Comer and Naideen Sevier Comer. She taught and coached for 32 years in the Caddo and Bossier Parish School System. After coming back to Ferriday, she taught at Huntington School and Tensas Academy.

Mrs. Boydstun was a member of Sevier Memorial United Methodist Church and served as church secretary.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, David H. Boydstun Sr.; one son, David H. Boydstun Jr. and wife, Kristie, of Ferriday; one daughter, Jennifer Boydstun Herring and husband, Kelly, of Prarieville, La.; five grandchildren, Jaden, Nicholas and Nathaniel Boydstun, Peyton and Hayden Herring; one sister, Von Comer Cordray and husband, Mike, of Zachary, La.; a special niece, Sherrill Britt and husband, Mike McDonald, of Atlanta; and a number of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Victor Sevier III, Mike Corday, Bill Poole, Kelly Herring, Bill Burris and Billy Rucker.
