MEADVILLE — Services for Doris Marie Cothran, 81, of McCall Creek, who died Monday, June 17, 2013, at Promise Hospital in Vidalia, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Luke Addison officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday, both at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cothran was born April 20, 1932, in McCall Creek, the daughter of Jewel and Mae Dillon Pickett. She was a longtime member of Mount Gilead Primitive Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cothran worked as a hairdresser for a number of years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Cothran was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ailene Foster and Neva Rae Pickett; one brother, Billy Pickett; and three sons-in-law, Howard Wayne Wallace, Mitchell Wroten and Kerry Patrick.
Survivors include two daughters, Sybil Wroten and Shirley Wallace, both of McCall Creek; one son, Donnie Hall and wife, Lynda, of Natchez; grandchildren, Tabitha Wroten and Ricky Rowlin, Karla Wroten Mack and husband, Woodie, Dusty Wroten and wife, Lori, Christy Wallace, Bubby Wallace and Karla Fauver, Michael Paul Wallace and wife, Kendra, Brian Hall and wife, Angie, and Amy Hall Kingsafer and husband, Ferrell; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Tom Pickett and wife, Lanell, of McCall Creek; and four sisters, Beverly McEwen and husband, Harold, Renae McCullough and husband, Calvin, Patricia Moak and husband, Delton, and Willie Faye Townsend, all of McCall Creek .
Pallbearers will be Howard Wayne “Bubby” Wallace Jr., Michael Paul Wallace, Brian Hall, Dusty Wroten, Ferrell Kingsafer and Christian Wroten.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Rowlin, Bubby “Jr.” Wallace and Mark Dillon.
