BUDE — Funeral arrangements for John Edward “Champ” Champion, 60, of Bude, who died Saturday, June 29, 2013, in Vicksburg, will be 2 p.m. today at New Bethel Baptist church with the Rev. Robert Fleming officiating.

Burial will follow at the New Bethel Baptist Church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be noon until time of services at the church.

Mr. Champion was born July 12, 1952, in Natchez, the son of John Wesley and Elouise Bee Champion. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Betty Kay Shinall; one aunt, Stella Herring; one uncle, Louis Bee and two brothers-in-law, Charles Hickenbottom and Juan Middleton.

Survivors include a loving wife, Edna Champion; five children, John Coleman of Ohio, Marcus Hickingbottom, Gregory Hickingbottom, both of Bude, Allen Howard of Meadville and Leslie Hickingbottom of It; one sister, Julia Champion of California; one brother, James Champion and wife, Kim, of California; mother-in-law, Leslie Middleton Hickingbottom of Bude; eight grandchildren, Kelee Sims, Austin Hickingbottom, Jasmin Hickingbottom, Gabrielle Hickingbottom, Acadia Jett, SeAllen Howard, Nyla Howard and LaNatia Coleman; three sisters-in-law, Connie Hickingbottom and companion, Hosea, Shanna Butler and husband, Leroy, and Vondia Harris and husband, Ralph; five brothers-in-law, Joe Hickingbottom, Larry Hickingbottom, Patrick Hickingbottom, Sedrick Hickingbottom and wife, Sharon, and Demechery Hickingbottom; and a number of other relatives and friends.
