NATCHEZ — Services for Lottie M. Smith, 85, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at Franklin County Hospital in Meadville, will be at noon Friday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Harrigill officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 today and from 11 a.m. until service time Friday, both at the funeral home.
Mrs. Smith was born Dec. 24, 1927, in Franklin County, the daughter of William Henry Beach and Bashia Holmes Beach. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Smith was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church. She served as past president of the Baptist Women’s Missionary Union and was also a member of the President’s Club with Avon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Seth “Big Red” Smith; her parents; two sons, Seth H. “Sonny” Smith Sr. and Herman Gene “Pistol” Smith; and one granddaughter, Jennifer Jean Smith.
Survivors include two sons, Reginald Allie Smith and wife, Rhonda, of Spring Hill, Tenn., and D.D. Smith and wife, Melanie, of Natchez; eight grandchildren, Kelley Smith Thompson and husband, Charles, Seth H. Smith Jr. and wife, Amanda, Herman Gene Smith Jr., Lief Smith and wife, Jill, Erin Smith Mock and husband, David, Travis Rudy Smith, Lauren Mae Smith and John Dalton Smith; seven great-grandchildren, Olivia Smith, Seth H. Smith III, Abigail Smith, Tyler Gage Smith, Charlotte Ann Thompson, Braden Travis Smith and Matthew Mock II; and one sister-in-law, Dorothy Beach.
Pallbearers will be John Dalton Smith, Travis Rudy Smith, Charles Thompson, Lief Smith, David Mock, Herman Smith, Dale Foster, Harvey Beach Jr. and Seth H. Smith Jr.
The family extends a special thanks to the staff at Meadville Convalescent Home and Dr. Ben Yarborough.
