NATCHEZ — Services for Lillian B. Stewart, 83, of Opelousas, La., formerly of Natchez, who died Monday, July 29, 2013, at the Senior Village Community Care Center, LLC, in Opelousas, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Sinai Baptist Church with the Rev. James Brooks officiating.
Burial will follow at Rehobath Church Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Stewart was born Feb. 5, 1930, in Birmingham, Ala., the daughter of Cleveland and Clara Witherspoon. She was a member of Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Sibley and served as a member of the choir, usher board and the Mother board of the church.
Mrs. Stewart was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Stewart, and her parents.
Survivors include two sons, Herman Seremala and wife, Rose, of Phoenix, Ill., and Raymond Stewart and wife, Johanna, of Opelousas; three daughters, Shirley Salters and Mae Frances Nesbit and husband, Larry, all of Phoenix, and Maxine Thompson of Chicago; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a number of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends; and her Mount Sinai Baptist Church family.
