082313 LauraALWinston obitpicNATCHEZ — Services for Laura Anna “Ree Ree” Luster Winston, 58, of Natchez, who died Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. James P. Fallon officiating. A Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m.

Repast will be follow at 308 Broadmoor Drive.

Burial will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Winston was born Nov. 28, 1954, in Natchez, the daughter of James Cornelius Luster Sr. and Julia Belle Luster. She was a 1972 graduate of Natchez High School and a graduate of Alcorn State University, Copiah-Lincoln Community College and the University of Southern Mississippi.

Mrs. Winston was employed by Natchez-Adams School District. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, a member of the gospel choir and Southern Road to Freedom.

Mrs. Winston was also a sponsor of student government and speared headed Moving on Celebration at Robert Lewis Middle School.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James C. Luster Jr.

Survivors include her husband, Henry Lee Winston; two children, Gregory Green and wife, Kemeterica, and James Green and wife, Shana; six grandchildren, Gregory, Nicholas, Darius, Jeremiah, Xander and Jazzlyn; four sisters, Acquanetta Miller and husband, Charles, Yolanda Luster, Jessie Singleton and Gwendolyn Morgan and husband, Johnny; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and special friends.

Laura was a loving, caring and faith-filled woman who loved singing for the Lord. Laura found her calling in education and that’s where she enjoyed working with students and co-workers. Laura also had a most profound passion of sharing the message of God to any and all, indeed Laura was a true shepherd for the Lord.

In case of inclimate weather, the repast will be at Holy Family Catholic Church Hall following the services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to her husband at 308 Broadmoor Drive.
