VIDALIA — Services for Ernest W. “Wayne” Crain, 66, of Vidalia, who died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at Crown Health Rehab of Natchez, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Vidalia First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill McCullin and the Rev. Ralph Webber officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Crain was born Oct. 15, 1946, in Winnsboro, the son of George Crain and Enomia Mercer Crain. He was a member of Vidalia First Baptist Church and worked in the nursery rocking many of the toddlers.

Mr. Crain was also a mechanic of 50 years and he proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force.

Mr. Crain was a Vietnam veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Geraldine Golsby.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Linda Crain; one son, Scott Crain and wife, Penny, of Vidalia; one grandson, Stephen Crain and wife, Cami, of Niceville, Fla.; and three granddaughters, Victoria Dampier, Kaylee Crain and Morgan Crain, all of Vidalia.

Pallbearers will be Michael Stricklin, Tim Rushing, Edwin Rushing, Stephen Crain, Wade Thames and Neal Thames.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Thomas, Terry Dunn and Paul Lofton.

The family extends special thanks to Natchez Regional Medical Center and Crown Health and Rehab of Natchez.
