JONESVILLE — Funeral services for Mr. Milton L. Coldiron 64, of Jonesville, who died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Alexandria, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Good Road Pentecostal Church in Jonesville with the Rev. Chad Franklin officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hamilton Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Jena.
Visitation will be 5 to 10 p.m. Monday at Good Road Pentecostal Church.
Mr. Coldiron was born on Jan. 25, 1949, in Jonesville, the son of Milton and Ida Ford Coldiron. He was a U.S. Marine veteran, serving 2 years in Vietnam, and was an oilfield roughneck, truck driver, a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, John Thomas and Danny Lee Coldiron.
Survivors include his wife, Valarie Smith Coldiron; two daughters, Shannon Lea Butler and husband, Curtis Jr., and Amanda Sue Coldiron, all of Jonesville; two sons, Allen Scott Coldiron and wife, Jodi, of Oakdale and Robert Cody Coldiron of Jonesville; his mother, Ida Ford Coldiron Brown of Jonesville; two sisters, Wanda Gail Laird of Big Springs, Texas, and Linda Nell Coleman of Jonesville; one brother, Clifford Lamar Coldiron of Arcadia; nine grandchildren, Chevy Tellis Book, Christian Tyler Book, Madison Paige Coldiron, Stormi Cheynnan Coldiron, Milton Miles Coldiron, Aslynn Alaine Coldiron, Aaron Stephen Coldiron, Jasmin Elizabeth Byrnes and Sabin Gage Byrnes; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Curtis Butler Jr., Matt Coldiron, John Bishop, Scottie Boothe, Cliff Butler and Eric Butler.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chevy T. Book and Benny Hamilton.
