NATCHEZ — Services for John Robert “Johnnie Cake” Davis, 87, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at Glenburney Rehab and Healthcare, will be at noon today at Zion Watch Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael White officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Davis was born June 30, 1926, in Natchez, the son of Henry Sr. and Luberta Harbor Davis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Beatrice Netters, Mary Watkins, Luberta Butler Smith and Annie Bell Washington; four brothers, Henry Davis Jr., Sam Davis, Freddie Davis and James Davis; and special friends Ollie Foster Davis, the mother of his children, and Fannie O’Neal Hawkins.

Survivors include three daughters, Cynthia Standifer and husband, Darryl, of Pontotoc, Carla Davis and Brenda Davis, both of Jackson; one son, John Robert “Little John” Davis Jr. and wife, Carolyn, of Natchez; six grandchildren, Adrian Skillon, Shanekia Davis, Daneisha Dunbar, Joshua Nash, Jonathon Davis and John Robert Davis III; three sisters, Lenora Butler and husband, Andrew, of Natchez; Mammie Edwards of Warrenville, Ohio, and Versie Davis of Chicago; special friends Dave and Doretha Mayberry of Natchez and Jake Davis of Clayton; and a number of nieces, nephews, relatives and other friends.
